Westfield Stratford Opens it’s doors

On 13th September 2011 London’s Major, Boris Johnson, cut the ribon and officially opened London’s newest and biggest shopping centre.

Costing £1.45bn and consisting of 300 shops and covering just under 2m sq. ft., it takes the title of Europe’s biggest shopping centre.

The thousands of people gathered to celebrate the opening were entertained by Ex-Pussycat Doll and U.S. X Factor judge Nicole Scherzinger plus other stars.

Getting there couldn’t easier with:

* Extensive road and bus network: A12, A11, A13 to the M25 & M11; over 4 million people reside within a 45-minute drive time; 6.7 million reside within 60-minute drive time; 5,000 dedicated parking spaces

* Powerful rail connections: 58 trains per hour connecting central London; 27.2 million people currently enter/exit Stratford Regional Station per annum; Stratford forecast to be one of the busiest stations on London network post-launch; network includes Jubilee Line, Central Line, London Overground, DLR, Southeastern Kent FastLink, National Rail Network, Crossrail (opening 2017) – providing 24 1,500-seat trains per hour
