Director Richard Jones , whose recent ENO successes include Julietta and The Tales Of The Hoffmann , brings his own inimitable theatrical style to this, the first professional London staging of the work in many years. Conducted by Baroque specialist Christian Curnyn , whose exquisite conducting is near perfect (The Guardian) , the stellar cast includes acclaimed Handelians soprano Rebecca Evans, countertenor Iestyn Davies, tenor John Mark Ainsley and mezzo saprano Susan Bickley.
