Olympic park to host music events

Hard Rock Calling last Summer.

It has been announced that as of this year Hyde will lose several of it’s outdoor concerts, such as Hard Rock Calling and Wireless, to the newly developed Olympic Park now known as the Queen Elizabeth Olympic Park. The complaints about noise pollution from nearby residents has been quoted as a reason for the move, but we believe that in order to generate some revenue back from the investment in the park, Live Nation (the promoter) may have been offered a deal too good to turn down. Boris Johnson was quick to annouce what a draw the venue was to the entertainment industry.

This is good news for the residents and for the fans as some of the congestion issues of Hyde Park will be addressed but we feel that some of the atmosphere will be lost until the new venue established itself.
On the plus side should the “Boss” or Madge decide to play here again they will have the plug pulled on them!
